When we were in Sioux Falls for Christmas I was able to get out with Paul for an ice outing. We set up tent so the kids could try their luck. We never did catch one, but a local kid helped me out and caught a small trout for a picture fish. Later Dad told me it was the joke of the day as this fish was all of about 8 inches long and they cooked it up anyway.
Later that evening I was able to get out again in the the below zero temps with Paul and Adam for a quasi-bachelor party/ ice fishing. We tried our luck at finding a waldo, but missed most of or chances. It was a blast just hanging out in the giant tent, and enjoying each other's company.
As we were packing up to leave, one of Adam's tip up actually had a fish on it! Not skunked is always a good feeling.
After ice fishing, Rachel and I joined Adam and Cathie for a late night bite and some good conversation. It was eventually decided that we needed to sit in their hot tub at their new place despite it being -10 degrees outside.
It was so cold, the steam was absolutely insane. Everything in the water was toasty and warm while your hair, if wet, was frozen in seconds.
It was a lot of fun to hang out with Adam and Cathie as we don't get to spend much time with just them without there being some form of Livermore insanity.
Stay Tuned
