We only had some minor issues, but nothing that some upper body strength and sunroof wouldn't fix.
When we got to the lake, we were the only ones there and I was flabbergasted that we had the lake to ourselves. It didn't take long for us to hook into some fish.
Dax was having some major meltdown issues regarding the stability of the boat, and regardless of what we said, it didn't matter. We ended up dropping him into the kayak with Megan, and she was able to coax him into a stroll around the lake in that boat. In the mean time, we were still finding some fish!
We fished for bass mostly as it was a sunny clear day, and that is not generally conducive to walleyes in this lake. Austin and Jerry tried for the better part of the morning and did not catch a fish...
After a quick stop home for lunch, the fishing crowd thinned a little and we tried our luck at Indian Springs. Jerry and Ryker were in a kayak, and Ryan and I took the boat. Ryker lasted all of about 20 minutes and had enough and wanted to be done, so we called Rachel to come pick him up. We dropped the kayak on the trailer, and Jerry hopped him the boat with us. We tooled around the bay, trying all of my hotspots, and we couldn't buy a fish. The water clarity was next to zero, which makes things borderline impossible. We tried live bait as well as everything I had in the bag, but we ended empty handed. It still beat not trying.
When we returned home, I got to worked cooking grill roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes, and onions, steak, and chicken.
Austin, Ryan, and I had to have a celebratory shot while I was grilling meat!
After dinner we spent time just hanging out and enjoying the company.
Stay Tuned
