While Rachel and I have been driving incessantly back and forth to South Dakota for vet interviews we have had a chance to hang out with Adam and Cathy, and occasionally Uncle Paul. This last Saturday we spent the better part of the day, as Paul predicted, installing a new trolling motor on Paul's boat. We couldn't let this project get in the way of the end goal of getting on the water, so Rachel and Cathy collected food material, Paul and I licensed up, and Adam hooked up the electrical mess with the new motor.
We got on the water with a little under 2 hours to actually fish before dark. Adam took us to the sunken tractor and we started pitched jig heads. Not 5 minutes in I found a fish!
We moved to the other side of the small lake we were on because of wind and fished a bend without putting a fish in the boat. Rachel on the other hand brought a monster muskie to the side of the boat and I proceeded to damn near wet myself.
After awhile we headed back to the sunken implements as the wind abated and we found the fish again.
"Adam! Smile like you are actually having fun!"
It got dark shortly after and we headed back to the dock. While talking to one of the local guys near the dock, it was found that his buddy caught a 46 inch muskie right off of shore! Railroad tie with fins...
