Birth-day-before Outing

The day before my 26th birthday I took work off and spent some time trying to enjoy life again. I spent the morning and afternoon fishing the Des Moines with Nick, and then the afternoon scouting doves for Labor Day.

Dove season is just around the corner, and if the weather holds off, it will be another banner year.

Weekend with the Lakner's

Had the opportunity and limited amount of time with the Mrs' schedule to carpool with Ned and Jacque to the diverse town of Denison. We hauled ass on Friday, and enjoyed superdogs, beers, the new pup Penny, and some wonderful conversation.

We got to see Nate's stompin' grounds as he pretty much runs Crawford County Conservation. He showed us around a little and showed his wonderful pallet shed.
We didn't really have a plan for the weekend so winging it was the game. We got some shells and some clay pigeons and went out to break some clays.

 Oh the pretty girls!

Em decided it was rather imperative that after shooting we would just have to stop and grab a snow cone!

As we had to do some form of games we had a 'bags' tournament.

I managed to win!....but Nate challenged for a rematch and won.

This is what  three shitty mustaches look like. Someday...
